As a family run business, we understand the importance of preserving and enhancing our environment, whilst serving people and communities.
We have a team of people helping make RTS a success every day, this includes our apprentices, as we train the next generation of people for RTS.
Sometimes cutting trees is the right thing for the environment!
We use our training to maintain trees correctly to allow them to grow healthy, mature and strong. We also remove diseased and dead trees which are hazards to people and impact surrounding trees.
We maintain our equipment regularly, so they run efficiently this helps us reduce fuel usage.
There are so many useful products we get from maintaining trees and we are keen to recycle and repurpose.
We work with a local farmer to use the woodchip for Biomass, turning chippings into sustainable fuel to generate electricity. The heat from the biomass boiler kiln dries our logs! The logs we get are kiln dried and used to provide heat to many throughout the colder months.
In addition to logs and biomass providing fuel, we also work with local businesses providing woodchip to local landscapers and lengths of timber to craftsmen. However, our favourite re-use of trees is by our very own Joe, who creates wonderful wooden sculptures.
